C-Screen’s mission is to empower individuals and organizations to make informed decisions by rating employer screening practices.
The idea for C-Screen was born when co-founder Chris Rothwell, a risk management expert, worked with a nursing home client that had experienced a devastating incident: an employee crime against an elderly resident. The facility’s background screening practices were alarmingly inadequate. Chris realized that as a future consumer – someone who might one day need to choose a nursing home for his own parents – there was no objective way to compare how thoroughly different employers screened their staff.

This realization became the foundation for C-Screen, the first and only rating system designed to measure the rigor of employer screening practices.
Together with his business partners, Chris leveraged decades of expertise in risk management to create a transparent, standardized rating system supported by a powerful technology platform. Their vision is to give consumers, employees, and organizations a trusted resource to assess and compare how responsibly employers vet their workforce.
